Division Series Record (3-1)
2018 MLB Championship Series Predictions
Boston Red Sox Vs Houston Astros
The Astros looked pretty much unstoppable in the ALDS against the Indians, who are not a chump team, but they looked like one against the Astros. The Astros pitching has continued to dominate and the batting lineup has continued to score a ton of runs. The Astros look even better and more confident then when they made their run last season. The Red Sox should give them a run for their money because they are a similar team that should matchup very well against the Astros. The Red Sox have been very consistent this season in most areas, except with their pitching. The starting lineup is solid, but they can easily get knocked around and this Astros batting order is not one to make a mistake with because they will make you pay. The Astros are playing at another level right now and it doesn’t look like they are about to let up until they win the Championship!

Los Angeles Dodgers Vs Milwaukee Brewers
Well now it’s time for the Brewers to show us who they really are because they are facing a damn good team with everything on the line! The Brewers have been a solid team from start to finish and they showed no mercy against the Rockies in the NLDS, but this is going to be a completely different team coming up in the NLCS! The Dodgers have been up and down this season and haven’t really found any consistency, but currently they are on fire! I wouldn’t be surprised if a couple games end up with a high scoring shooutout because these are two of the strongest batting lineups in the NL. The Dodgers have the edge in this matchup because of their starting pitching. They have one of the best pitchers in the league in Clayton Kershaw who is as reliable as they get and looks to be healthy and back in form. The Dodgers starting pitching can go the distance, but I’m not sure I can say the same for the Brewers. The Brewers have a good starting rotation with a solid bullpen, but this Dodgers team is lights out on offense right now and they don’t look like they are about to cool off!

2018 MLB Division Series Predictions
New York Yankees Vs Boston Red Sox
One of the best rivalries in sports is Yankees and Red Sox and I feel like this one will be another classic! In the past playoff matchups between these two, the Yankees usually rolled in and looked like the more dominant team, but not this time around. The Yankees are a solid team, but they have had their struggles, and I am not convinced their starting pitching or bullpen will be able to handle the Red Sox. The Red Sox have been one of the best teams in the league by far, they can kill you on offense and they will kill you on defense. They are difficult to score against and difficult to stop once they start loading up the bases. The starting pitching is one of the best in the league and we all know that is where it all begins if you want a championship. I don’t expect the Yankees to lay down, they will give it their all, but unfortunately for them I think the Red Sox are a much more consistent team than the Yankees and that gives them the edge in this matchup.

Cleveland Indians Vs Houston Astros
This matchup in the Division Series will probably be better than the actual World Series. I believe whoever wins this matchup will be the Champion when it’s all said and done because I believe these are the two best teams in the league. They both showcase some of the best pitching in the league, along with a batting lineup that has been known to score a lot of runs. The problem for the Astros this season has been the never ending injuries to some of their key players, so they just haven’t looked as dominant as they were last season. I don’t even think most people beyond legitimate baseball fans even realize how good the Indians are, they have probably the best starting pitching staff in the league and the bullpen is solid as well. I believe the edge in this matchup will go to the Indians because of their power house batting lineup. I believe they will come through in the clutch and will be able to pound away at the Astros pitchers and take this series.

Atlanta Braves Vs Los Angeles Dodgers
The Braves have been a big surprise this season with a nice group of homegrown talent taking the league by storm. The Dodgers on the other hand have been all over the place. They haven’t had one ounce of consistency at any point in the season. One minute they look amazing and can kick your ass, then the next they are getting blown out and look like an absolutely pathetic squad. The Dodgers on paper are a really good team and should actually breeze right on through the playoffs, but because of their inconsistency it’s hard to imagine they won’t have a difficult time against the Braves. While I like what the Braves have been able to accomplish this season, I still think they have some work to do and have really cooled off over the past couple of months. I believe the Dodgers have the edge in this matchup just because they seem to actually be playing well and came in hot into the playoffs and seem to be firing on all cylinders…for now!

Colorado Rockies Vs Milwaukee Brewers
I don’t believe most people thought the Brewers were going to dominate like they did this season. They have been on fire from start to finish and overall have been one of the most consistent teams in the National League. The batting lineup is killer and the starting pitching has been very solid. The Rockies caught fire the last couple of months and almost ended up taking the division away from the Dodgers! The Rockies are a solid team and should give the Brewers a tough fight, but in the end I think the Brewers are a much better team and will be able to take advantage when it matters the most. I don’t believe the Rockies starting pitchers will be able to handle the Brewers batting order and could be in trouble if the starters get chased out of the game early and they have to rely on the bullpen.

Los Angeles Rams (13-3)
Last season the Rams finally got it together. They’ve been building up their roster with a lot of young talent, but were never really able to turn that into any wins, until last year. During the offseason the Rams proved they are all in on a Super Bowl this year! They made a few big moves to add a lot more depth to an already talented squad. They signed Ndamukong Suh who has always been a beast, but his talent for the most part was wasted in Detroit and Miami. Now that he is with the Rams and the defense isn’t going to completely rely on him, I feel like he is going to have a monster season. The offense looked amazing last season and I expect more of the same this year. In my opinion the Rams are going to be one of the top teams in the league and will make a strong run at the Super Bowl.
San Francisco 49ers (9-7)
The 49ers have started moving in the right direction when they traded for Jimmy Garoppolo. He is no doubt the future of the franchise, but outside of him offensively the 49ers are vanilla. Their top receiver is Marquise Goodwin, who is a solid receiver but he’s not going to be a big time playmaker. The running back position is questionable at best and quite frankly so is the defense. The 49ers still have some work to do with this team, but they are definitely headed in the right direction.
Seattle Seahawks (6-10)
The Seahawks are no longer the dominant force they once were. The defense has lost the majority of their big time players who have carried this squad over the years and the remaining players are not happy, and are quite vocal about it. Russell Wilson is their only saving grace at this point and while he is an excellent quarterback I think he is going to have the same problems as Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay and that is he has no help at all! Last year he was the entire offense and they went nowhere and I expect more of the same this season. I’ve also noticed that it seems Pete Carroll has lost control of the locker room, which in my opinion is one of the main reasons why they used to be so dominant.
Arizona Cardinals (1-15)
The Cardinals are going to be the WORST team in the league! Look for them to have the first pick in the 2019 draft!
Los Angeles Chargers (10-6)
My surprise pick of the season is the Los Angeles (almost wrote San Diego) Chargers. The offense is going to be difficult to stop for any opponent. Philip Rivers has always been underrated because he plays for the Chargers, I think most people forget he even exists sometimes, but he’s solid and consistent. Melvin Gordon should have a great year as well because he has one hell of an offensive line in front of him. The defense started to show some promise towards the end of last season and I think they are going to be one of the best in the league this season. With Joey Bosa on one side and Melvin Ingram on the other coming at ya most quarterbacks are going to be on their backs and won’t even have a chance to toss the ball up to anyone.
Oakland Raiders (9-7)
The Raiders made a huge change this offseason by firing their coach Jack Del Rio and getting Jon Gruden to come out of retirement and get back to coaching the Raiders! While Gruden is inheriting a good team with some solid players, the Raiders still have some work to do. Derek Carr is a great leader and is fully capable of carrying this offense. The problem for the Raiders is their defense, it’s pretty solid when one of the best players in the league Khalil Mack is playing, but from what it sounds like the Raiders have no interest in paying the dude and may even trade him?! That would be such an awful move because I don’t understand what you could possibly get in return for a player like Mack. He is nearly irreplaceable, he is a one of a kind player, I mean I understand there is always a back and fourth when it comes to contract negotiations, but damn pay the man! He’s proven his worth not only as a football player, but also as an Oakland Raider! I feel like it’s going to be a bumpy road for the Raiders all season. They will show some life and have some big wins here and there, but overall I feel like they are going to disappoint.
Denver Broncos (7-9)
It’s really ironic to see John Elway, one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, as a GM so far has failed to find a franchise quarterback to lead the Broncos. The Broncos have been playing quarterback roulette for years now and I don’t think that has changed with Case Keenum. He isn’t the worst quarterback out there, but I’m still not sure he’s a franchise guy. I wouldn’t be surprised if he bombs out this season because the Broncos offense doesn’t have half of the weapons he had last year when he was with the Vikings. The Broncos defense is pretty solid with the linebackers so that should help get them some wins, but overall I think the Broncos are a very mediocre team.
Kansas City Chiefs (4-12)
The Chiefs have been on the downslide for a couple seasons now. They were a middle of the road team last year and this year I expect them to be even worse. Andy Reid should have plenty of time to show Patrick Mahomes around Kansas City and hunt for the best barbecue food in town! I have no doubt he is very knowledgeable in this area!
