World Series Prediction

Tampa Bay Rays Vs Los Angeles Dodgers

This was, by far, one of the best baseball seasons I have watched in my life and the culmination of this season is finally here with a great matchup of two great teams to end this season. The Dodgers have absolutely dominated from start to finish. They have made winning look really easy this season and they have done it behind solid pitching and even better offense. The Rays are doing the exact same thing which will make this a great matchup. As I said in the previous round when two evenly matched teams go up against each other in a seven game series you are put to the test in every way and only the team that is able to take advantage of the small chance of error their opponent offers up will come out on top. Both teams were put to the test in the Championship Series and came out on top which means we are going to get another great series to end the season. Both teams have had great starting pitching, a bullpen that can step it up when called upon, defense that can make the big play and offense that can score the big run. It’s difficult to figure out which team has the edge over the other, but there is an advantage the Dodgers do have and that is postseason experience. Over the years the Dodgers have been notorious chokers in the playoffs and even when they dominate the regular season they fall hard in the postseason, but sometimes that can be a good thing to help build for your future. As much as it pains me to say this because I absolutely hate everything about the Dodgers, I still think they are the better team and will finally win a World Series. The Rays will put up a good fight, but the Dodgers have made baseball look really easy this season and they’ve looked like the best team from start to finish and I think they will finally come out on top.

ALCS

Houston Astros Vs Tampa Bay Rays

So, do you think the Astros are playing with a chip on their shoulders this postseason or what? They have obliterated both teams they’ve faced in the playoffs and the Rays better watch out because this team is coming in hot. Don’t forget, cheating aside, this team has pretty much dominated the American League so they do know how to win, especially this time of year. The Rays look solid and have played consistent all season long with great pitching and a deep batting order. Even when things look down and out for them they are able to overcome and make a big play when necessary. Overall, the Rays are a better team than the Astros, especially when it come to pitching. The Astros starting pitching is lucky if they don’t get lit up by the second inning and the bullpen isn’t any better, but on offense they will light you up and if you can’t keep up you won’t have a chance against the Astros. While I believe the Rays are the better team, the Astros are the hotter team and are playing at a high level that will be difficult to stop. They also have the edge with the postseason experience. They may not have any trash cans to bang this time around, but I still think the result will be the same and the Astros will head to the World Series where they can finally play in front of a crowd and hopefully hear the boo’s they so deserve for being cheaters!

NLCS

Atlanta Braves Vs Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers have dominated the National League this season from start to finish and have rolled through the playoffs! They look unstoppable for the most part, but this Braves team may finally be the team that puts the Dodgers to the test. These teams are equal in so many ways from the starting pitching, to the bullpen and all the way down their batting order. The Braves are finally healthy and have also rolled through the playoffs without a loss so, this is going to be a great matchup regardless of the outcome. The great thing about a seven game series is when teams like these that are so evenly matched have to battle it out for possibly seven straight games, it becomes a battle of which team can make the least amount of mistakes and, who is able to take advantage of those few opportunities that will present themselves during a series. The starting pitching for both teams is great from top to bottom, but I think the Braves pitching was pushed to the brink in their playoff run, while the Dodgers have made it look easy. I think that is a slight advantage the Braves have over the Dodgers because they know can battle through and make it through some tough innings. Where-as the Dodgers haven’t really been tested at all and we know over the years when they get a few runs down the game can get away from even their best pitchers. It should be a great matchup to watch, but I think the Braves are going to shock the World and move onto the World Series!

ALDS & NLDS Playoff Predictions

Wild Card Record (6-2)

MLB Division Series Playoff Predictions

ALDS

Houston Astros Vs Oakland A’s

Well look at the Astros actually, winning a series without cheating! Congrats to them! The Wild Card series was the best the Astros have looked all season and they may shake some things up now in this postseason. The pitching looked decent for the first time and they were able to produce some runs on the offensive side of the ball. They looked confident, which is something we haven’t really seen from them at all this season. The A’s looked solid against the White Sox in the Wild Card round from top to bottom. They have been one of the most consistent teams this season and even when it looks like the game has gotten away from them, they come right back swinging and get it going again. The edge in this matchup goes to the A’s because their pitching is great and they look really confident right now. The Astros will make this a good series to watch, but in the end I think the A’s will move onto the next round!

New York Yankees Vs Tampa Bay Rays

This may turn out to be the best matchup we get in this round because these two teams are division rivals and know each other very well. The Rays played great against the Yankees this year, but they did benefit from all the injuries the Yankees suffered throughout the regular season. This time around they’re getting a healthy and stacked Yankees lineup coming right at them who just owned some of the best pitching we have seen in this season. The Rays are coming in with a great pitching lineup, but as we just saw the Yankees do not give a fuck! This batting lineup can score at will and I don’t think anybody will be able to keep up if things get out of hand. The Rays are a solid team, but I think the Yankees are on fire right now and are going to be difficult to pitch around because they have too much power in that lineup with Judge, Stanton, Voit, LeMehieu, and that’s just to name a few. The Rays should make this an interesting series, but I think the Yankees will walk away with it all.

NLDS

Miami Marlins Vs Atlanta Braves

The Braves were absolutely dominant against the Reds in the Wild Card round. I feel like if anybody had any questions about this team once the playoffs began, then those questions should have been answered with what you saw from the Braves. Pitching was great from top to bottom and they did not waiver once even in one of the best 13 inning playoff pitching battles I’ve ever seen, they still came out and dominated until the end. It doesn’t hurt that you may have the NL MVP in Freddie Freeman who stepped it up when he had to. The Marlins have been a fun team to watch and it’s nice to see all that losing over the past couple of seasons has panned out and here they are in the NLDS! While the Marlins have played very well up to this point, I still think the Braves are a far superior team on every level and will be too much for the Marlins to handle.

San Diego Padres Vs Los Angeles Dodgers

This is not the matchup the Dodgers wanted in the postseason because the Padres are the only team this season to play well against the Dodgers this season. They are Division rivals which should make this an interesting matchup in itself, but both of these teams are playing very well and have deep rosters with great players who can take over a game at any time. The Padres have been the comeback kids and played like it in the previous round against the Cardinals. When they looked down and out, they turned it around and did it with ease. The pitching was off at times, but the hitting was phenomenal and stepped it up big on the defensive side of the ball. The Dodgers had a nice little warm-up in the Wild Card round against the Brewers, but they should not expect the same cake walk against the Padres. Over the years the Dodgers have been a dominant regular season team, but then hit the postseason and completely shit the bed. This matchup could be more of the same because the Padres look really confident and are playing some great baseball. The pitching is the questionable area on their team and the Dodgers deep lineup will give them some troubles, but I think the Padres batting lineup has what it takes to keep up with the Dodgers in this series. The Padres have the hot hand and have been playing with a great level of confidence that is hard to pick against and, since they are the one team that has actually given the Dodgers problems this season I believe they have what it takes to win this series and move onto the NLCS.
