NFL Conference Championship Playoff Predictions

NFC

Green Bay Packers Vs Atlanta Falcons

Congratulations to the Atlanta Falcons for finally impressing me, you guys were finally able to put together a great Playoff performance! Now, let’s see if you can pass this week’s challenge…Aaron Rodgers! That dude is something else! He had yet another amazing performance against the Cowboys in the Divisional round. He single handedly ripped the defense apart and played jedi mind tricks with them all day long. I’m a Cowboys fan and believe me it was hard to watch because while that’s your team getting their asses beat, I still was completely impressed with how he played in that game. The unfortunate thing for the Packers this week is the injuries on offense have really piled up in the receiving corps along with the offensive line. While Aaron Rodgers is an exceptional player who is playing some of the best football of his life, I don’t know if the rest of his team is going to help him out in even the slightest way against the Falcons.

The Falcons offense has been lights out and they tore up the Seattle defense, which is no easy task. The Packers defense is old and wobbly so it should be interesting to see what happens if the Falcons get too far ahead. The Falcons don’t have a weakness on offense and on the defensive side of the ball they’ve been a huge surprise. If this game turns into a shootout I think the Packers are in trouble because of the shaky defense and the battered offensive line, this puts way more pressure on Rodgers, and while he is excellent under pressure at some point it will catch up and he will make mistakes. I believe the Falcons have too much fire power for the Packers to handle and this great run that Rodgers has been on will come to an end this week.

Falcons over Packers 35-31

AFC

Pittsburgh Steelers Vs New England Patriots

It’s time for yet another AFC Championship in New England, does this team ever go away?! Even with Tom Brady missing the first four games of the season the Patriots still managed to top the AFC and then when Brady comes back he absolutely tears every single defense up! The Patriots are playing at a high level and once again have their eyes set on the ultimate prize. The Steelers just keep getting better each and every week and keep winning in different ways with different guys stepping it up. Leveon Bell is steam rolling through the Playoffs and has proven to be unstoppable against all of their opponents thus far. The one player who hasn’t had his moment during the Playoffs is Ben Roethlisberger and I can’t help but think that his time has come this week. Don’t get me wrong Roethlisberger has been solid throughout the Playoffs, but he hasn’t really had a great game.

The Patriots have been a tough battle for the Steelers over the years in the post season and I think they are looking to change that. Last week the Texans laid out the blue print on how you can stop the Patriots and that’s by getting to Tom Brady and forcing him to make mistakes. The Texans just couldn’t take advantage because they had a horrible offense, but this is not the case with the Steelers. The Patriots defense is not that great either and I believe Bill Belichick made a mistake by trading the linebacker Jamie Collins earlier in the season. I think that move will bite the Patriots in the ass this week because if this turns into a shoot out, the Steelers have the edge on offense, their ground game and receiving corps are much better and more reliable than the Patriots. The Steelers defense isn’t the power house it once was in the past, but they have stepped it up and I trust them over the Patriots defense. This should be a fun game to watch, but I’m taking the upset because I believe the Steelers are the better team.

Steelers over Patriots 28-24
