2016 NFL Season Predictions - AFC & NFC South

NFC South

Carolina Panthers (13-3)               The Panthers are coming off of one of the greatest seasons in their history and also one of the biggest let downs in team history. I feel like the Panthers will bounce back from that Super Bowl loss and use it as motivation throughout this season. Ron Rivera is a good coach and knows how to keep his team focused and also knows how to use your worst moment as motivation. Offensively and defensively the Panthers are by far one of the most complete teams from top to bottom. Cam Newton will finally have a wide receiver with Kelvin Benjamin back from injury and I’m not even worried about the loss of Josh Norman on the defensive side of the ball. I expect the Panthers to pick up right where they left off last year, with that chip on their shoulder ready to prove all the doubters wrong.

Atlanta Falcons (10-6)                    I never know what to expect from the Falcons. Are you guys going to be good this season or flat out shit? It’s always something different with this team and it’s not like they have a bunch of losers playing for them either, so what’s the problem?! Since they were mediocre last year, I imagine they will bounce back and actually be competitive this season. Offensively I really like what they have going on with Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and Devonta Freeman, they should be able to keep up with any high scoring offense in the league. I’m skeptical of their defense, but they have a few guys who can step it up and make some big plays. I don’t expect this team to make a Super Bowl run just yet, but they should definitely keep their opponents on their toes every week.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-11)     The Bucs have a long way to go! They’re building and have a few pieces, but they will not be competitors this season!

New Orleans Saints (4-12)           I hope all you bandwagon Saints fans have your paper bags handy because you’re going to need them this season! The Saints are going to be so awful, they made no improvements at all to their team during the off season. So that idiotic slogan “Who Dat” you guys are always chanting will definitely be the question everyone will be asking themselves when the Saints are playing!

AFC South

Indianapolis Colts (10-6)              The Colts overall are a very subpar team, I only have them winning their division because it’s so weak. Andrew Luck is a beast, but the Colts refuse to upgrade this offensive line and protect him. They don’t have much of a ground attack to back him up either and this defense is pretty tame. Like I said before, they are in a weak division so that will help them get some wins, but I don’t see the Colts as much of a threat once the post season rolls around. Hell I wouldn’t be surprised if they let another team win this division.

Jacksonville Jaguars (9-7)             The Jags have been making some big moves over the past couple of seasons and I think it will finally pay off this year. On the defensive side of the ball they drafted Jalen Ramsey, who is a beast and I feel was the missing link to complete this defense. Dante Fowler Jr. will also be making his debut, the previous seasons’ first round pick who spent last season rehabbing an injury. Both of these players should make a huge impact on defense because in my opinion they are the top two defenders from the last two drafts. On the offensive side I believe Blake Bortles will have a break out season. He’s going into his third year and has been beat up, but keeps his head up and has actually played well with what little offensive weapons he has had. This season he has an improved offensive line, he has a go to receiver in Allen Hurns and a quick shifty running back behind him, T.J. Yeldon. The Jags are a young team, so they are bound to make some mistakes, but I think they will be one of the surprise teams in the AFC.

Houston Texans (6-10)                  The day the Texans signed Brock Osweiler to a huge contract and named him the starting quarterback I could not stop laughing because this dude fits so perfect with this team and not in a good way! The Texans have been notorious since their inception for going all in on the worst possible choice of quarterbacks and this choice is no different. He got benched for beat up old ass can barely throw a pass Peyton Manning last year! That should tell you everything! I watched him play in the few games he was given the opportunity and he sucked out loud! So like I said this sack of crap fits perfect with the forever mediocre Texans. This offense is going to be horrendous and the defense won’t be much better. Hey speaking of the defense has anyone heard from the first pick from a couple seasons ago JeDeveon Clowney? Is he ever going to play an entire game or just keep riding that bench healing those wounds? What a bust he’s turned into. Keep up the good work Texans it should be another stellar season for ya!

Tennessee Titans (6-10)                               There really isn’t much to say about this team so I’ll just leave it at that!
