World Series Prediction

Philadelphia Phillies Vs Houston Astros

When the Phillies fired Joe Girardi earlier this season there is no way in hell I thought they would even come to close to the World Series, but that’s the great thing about baseball is they were able to overcome that problem and really put together a solid season. Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber have really stepped it up all season long, but most notably in the postseason. Aaron Nola and Zach Wheeler have really held it down throughout the postseason on the pitching side for the Phillies. The Astros have been the most consistent team from start to finish. The starting pitching is the best in the league, the bullpen is solid, they can score a lot of runs, and they are great defensively. There really isn’t a weakness with the Astros and that has shown since they haven’t even lost a game, yet this postseason. I don’t think they will be perfect in this series against the Phillies, but I have a feeling this one will be pretty quick. The Astros are way too stacked at every position, and while the Phillies are coming into this one hot, the Astros have been too good this season to blow it.

ALDS & NLDS Playoff Predictions

Wild Card Record (1-3)

MLB Divisional Series Playoff Predictions

ALDS

Seattle Mariners Vs Houston Astros

The Mariners are a very scrappy team and they are coming into this matchup on fire! They ended the regular season on a 10 game winning streak and then easily knocked out the Blue Jays in the Wild Card round. This team is a bunch of no-names, but they don’t play afraid and they stack up well against every team in the playoffs. The Astros are their division rival so I’m expecting this to be a close series because both teams know each other so well! The Astros are by far the best team in the American League. The starting pitching is the best in the league and they will be tough to get a run against. The batting lineup is unstoppable and once it gets going it’s tough to keep up. The Mariners played the Astros well this season, but did not win one series this season against the Astros and I don’t believe that will change in this matchup. The Astros are too good for me to pick against, at least this early in the playoffs!

Cleveland Guardians vs New York Yankees

These teams matchup really well against each other. They both have depth at starting pitching which will definitely be huge in a five game series. The Guardians have more depth in the bullpen so if any of the games become a pitching battle they will have the edge. The Yankees have a deeper and much more potent batting lineup led by Aaron Judge, but he’s not the only one who can rake in this lineup, don’t forget about Stanton and Rizzo. The rookie Cabrera has brought a new element to this batting lineup the last couple of weeks coming into the season so it will be interesting to see if he ends up making an impact in the playoffs. I have a feeling the Yankees bats will catch fire in this series and will be too much for the Guardians to overcome.

NLDS

San Diego Padres Vs Los Angeles Dodgers

I’m really not quite sure how the Padres ended up here because they’ve been so awful this season and just barely made the postseason, but here they are! The Dodgers have been the most dominant team this season and literally set a franchise record for wins. The Dodgers are notorious for choking hard in the playoffs though, so who knows maybe we’ll get a nice surprise in this round? I’m not counting on it though because the Padres are really not a good team. They have all the pieces, but just haven’t managed to get them working together consistently and I don’t believe that will happen in this round. The Dodgers are too good at every position and should easily dominate this series. The Padres may get a win due to the familiarity of the rivalry, but other than that I don’t think the Padres have a shot in this one!

Philadelphia Phillies Vs Atlanta Braves

The Phillies played a great series against the Cardinals with their starting pitching really being the driving force behind that, but they are going up against a different type of beast this time around! The Braves are one of the most complete teams in the league, and they are better than last years’ World Series Champion team, so that says a lot! The starting pitching is deep and so is the bullpen. The defense is solid and the batting order is stacked. I really don’t believe the Phillies have a chance in this one because the Braves are just going to overpower them on every level and the Phillies won’t be able to keep up.

MLB Wild Card Playoff Predictions

MLB Wild Card Playoff Predictions

AL

Tampa Bay Rays Vs Cleveland Guardians

The Guardians have been one of the hottest teams in baseball heading into the playoffs, and you really want to watch out for them because they have great starting pitching, one of the best closers in the game, they play great defense, have power offensively, and have a great manager. Overall, this team is primed for a playoff run! The Rays, on the other hand, are coming into this matchup on a five game losing streak, which is not how you want to enter the playoffs. The Rays have been inconsistent throughout the season. They have had their moments of success, but also some epic fails. I think the Guardians will easily sweep this series because I don’t feel like the Rays will be able to keep up with them on any level.

Seattle Mariners Vs Toronto Blue Jays

While the Mariners come into the playoffs on fire, there is still something inside of me that does not believe in them, at all! While I think it’s great for the organization that they finally made it to the postseason, I feel like that’s where it will stop because for the Mariners, that’s usually what happens. The Blue Jays have been playing very well this season and coming into the playoffs they have one of the hottest batting lineups from the past month! They really have been unstoppable with their bats and the pitching has really started to come together. I feel like this should be a fun series to watch, but I think the Mariners will fall short because that’s what they do and until they prove otherwise, I cannot believe in them!

NL

Philadelphia Phillies Vs St. Louis Cardinals

Both of these teams came stumbling into the playoffs. The Phillies barely made it in the last week of the season and the Cardinals haven’t played their best baseball the last couple of weeks, but someone has to win this matchup! I am impressed with the Phillies turn around after they fired Joe Girardi as their manager and Kyle Schwarber has had one hell of a season, but I don’t see them making much noise in the postseason. The Cardinals have been much more consistent this season and are always ready to go come playoff time. Historically, the postseason is where the Cardinals shine and I wouldn’t overlook them no matter who they end up playing. I think the Cardinals are the better team from starting pitching, to the batting lineup and the defense. They do have some holes, but they have a ton of veteran leadership and that should move the Cardinals onto the next round!

San Diego Padres Vs New York Mets

The Padres have been such a huge disappointment this season because they made some big moves at the trade deadline and none of them worked out. Juan Soto has finally been able to get it going offensively, but he really hasn’t been impressive since the trade and where the hell is Josh Hader?! This dude was the best closer in the game in Milwaukee and gets traded to the Padres and barely did a damn thing! The Mets are coming into this series in a slump, but I feel like this will be the perfect team to get out of that slump. The Mets are head and shoulders above the Padres, this shouldn’t even be a close series.
